Part 1 - March 2003

What did it feel like wearing heels for the first time (If it was the first time), and do you still get nervous each night going out in front of all those people?
Rachel from Yorkshire

Jonathan: "The first time it felt really weird because it's kind of embarrassing and also I didn't have a bloody clue how to walk on high heels. But it's sort of getting comfortable now, which is kind of a worry! But after this I don't think I'll be wearing them again. I hope not anyway! But this way you really appreciate trainers."

Hi Jonathan, I was just wondering when it was you first realised you could sing and wanted to perform and work a crowd in the way that you do?
Sonya Lodge from Howden, East Yorkshire

Jonathan: "When I had my tonsils out when I was about 15 - true story - I found out I had a bit of a voice. When I used to get up and do karaoke and stuff, I used to get up and sing - friends would say 'you should do this professionally'. I just thought it was the drink talking, but apparently I was quite good, so that's how I decided to do it really."

A lot of fans would like to know if you're planning to release a single or an album in the near future?

Jonathan: "At the moment everything is on a hold because of a lot of tv work that's coming up and also a lot more stagework which I'm thoroughly enjoying to be honest. But I'm not dismayed that I'm not gonna have another single out and an album, because I'd love to think that I'm going to. So hopefully in the near future, but nothing that's gonna be quite immediate straight away."

Did your performance in Southampton really make history by selling biggest number of tickets for a rocky show ever?
Helen Chatfield from Chichester

Jonathan: "Yeah it did. We got told that we broke the record in Southampton, which was amazing. It was one of my highlights of this show actually on the Saturday night. We played in front of 2.400 people, which was a LOT of people and it was a great show."

I adore Rocky Horror, and I wanted to know what's the best participation line you've heard during this tour?
Becki Parsons from Birmingham

Jonathan: "There's been loads, but I do like that one when I say 'and you'll receive it in abundance...' and people go 'What's that?', 'A disco in a bakery'. That's one of our favourite lines."

A lot of fans would like to know if there any plans for the show to go to foreign countries with you in the lead role, or if you're planning to visit other countries?

Jonathan: "I don't know, because there's another Rocky tour going around Europe at the moment, so I've got no plans of leaving England at the moment, but it could be quite cool. I wouldn't mind doing that actually."

Hi! I dont want to come across as one of those mad mad fans but I have to say I love your work! I'm 21 this year and about to embark on a degree course in musical theatre and was hoping you might have some professional advice for me. Any tips? Musicals are my passion and have been for a good many years since I can first remember performing. Then I did my first pro show at the age of 15! Whats the best advice you can give a girl like me hoping to make a carreer in musicals!!??! Thank you! xx
Donna-Kate, Wiltshire

Jonathan: "Hiya! The one tip in life, and especially in this business is to be very confident in what you do. Be very confident and don't be nervous. Go into every audition, or everything that you do full of confidence. Believe in yourself. If you believe that you can do it, then you can pretty much achieve anything. That's my theory on it."

Could I interview you for hospital radio and the other local RSL stations I work on when you come to Northampton in May?
Richard Beeby from Kettering, Northants

Jonathan: "I'm sure you can. If you get hold of the company manager of Rocky Horror, Neil White, he'll organize it."

Hi Jonathan, being Robbie Williams' best friend, do you ever get annoyed when it's quite obvious that's the only reason they're talking to you?
Lisa from Leicester

Jonathan: "Hi! Yeah, but I've seen a big change in the last 5 to 6 months. People want to speak to you because you're you now and they're respecting your work more. But as I always say you can't help who your best friend is. He is who he is and he happens to be one of the most famous guys in the world and that's so well-deserved because he's a very talented boy. I'm very proud of him, like-wise he is with me. But the interest in Rob is big, but it can get annoying when they ask stupid things."

"Will Godspell or Rocky Horror be released either on video or on CD (soundtrack)? I really enjoyed Godspell when I saw it and I'm coming to see Rocky in April. It would be great if it was!"
Laura Seppings from Beccles, Suffolk

Jonathan: "I'd love to think it was, but I don't think it's going to. There's the producer's risk factor of doing a recording and not making any money which I can totally understand, but in the same way it's frustrating because I'd like to listen them back and watch back some of what I've done. It have been great productions so it's a shame really but hey-ho...Maybe I'll do them one day."

What would your ideal woman be?
Lucy Fenner from Ashford, Kent

Jonathan: "My mother...as long as she's nice, she has a great sense of humour, easy to talk to, very bubbly, likes football and has a great arse...No I'm only joking!"

A lot of fans would like to know what you'll be doing after the Rocky Horror Show?

Jonathan: "Watch this space, you'll know in the next few weeks!"

Hi Jon, I was just wondering what happened to Coffee Tea and Sympathy. Last we heard you were releasing it with Rob, but heard nothing since, is it still going ahead?
Donna Fletcher from Leeds

Jonathan: "We made a decision that it was gonna go on Robbie's new album, but when we did 'Me and my shadow' it went really well, and to repeat that kind of thing is very hard. Sometimes it's better just doing a one-off sort of thing. I made the decision I didn't want to do a Jonny and Robbie overkill to be honest. One is enough and maybe we'll do another one a bit later in the future, in the next 5 to 10 years."

What would you say is the best song from Rocky Horror? (Mine is Sweet Transvestite!) Oh and by the way I think you're gorgeous!!!!!! Many thanks
Sophie from Surrey

Jonathan: "Aww thank you very much Sophie from Surrey! I like 'Sweet transvestite', but I think my favourite song is 'I'm going home', it's the big ballad I sing in the end."

Jon, do you ever feel overpowered by robs fame?
Katie Lewis from Kensington

Jonathan: "No, if you get jealous at your best friend then it's time to pack in. No not at all, I wouldn't want his attention. I wouldn't want his money as well. Well...I would - that's a lie!"

Tell me more about your new tattoos
Partygirl from Sidcup, Kent

Jonathan: "Obviously 'Nikki' means my girlfriend and '1823' is just a significant number that is very personal to me and that's it really."
